Meriden 2020, Bringing It Together

750 “Name the Park” Entries Received!

Thank you to all of the Meriden residents and friends of Meriden that submitted entries to the “Name the Park” contest!

Since the contest opened last October, the park at the Hub site has changed before our eyes!  The pedestrian bridge has been installed, Harbor Brook flows through the site, and green grass is growing.  Hundreds of trees and shrubs will be added this spring.

Many Meriden residents are excited about the new park, as evidenced by the 750 name the park entries that were received!

Over the next several weeks, a City staff committee will review all of the entries and recommend the top ten.  The top ten entrants will receive a prize, and one winning entry will have a chance to win up to $1000 and have their entry become the official name of the new park.  The City Council will have the final vote to select the winning entry. Please note that if more than one person submitted the same winning name, one prize winning entry will be selected by a random drawing from the names of those that submitted the winning name.

Updates on the name the park contest will be posted on Meridenct.gov, on Meriden2020.com and on the City’s Facebook page.
