Facade Improvement loans for downtown businesses
The City of Meriden is pleased to announce the continuation of the Meriden Match Program! This program is designed to provide forgivable loans up to $10,000 to commercial property owners and business owners located in Meriden’s Transit Oriented Development (TOD) District and other eligible areas.
These loans, which are funded through the City’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, can be used to improve the exterior façades of downtown properties. Property owners and business owners applying for the program together can receive up to $20,000. Loans in excess of this amount will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Applicants will be required to provide matching funds in order to qualify.
A full description of the program’s eligibility requirements as well as the pre-application and the Policies & Procedures can be found at the links below. Interested applicants are invited to download the pre-application and return to the City of Meriden. Pre-applications will now be accepted on a rolling basis.
