Downtown Meriden

Our central business district is going through a major transformation! Today, projects ranging from roadway and sidewalk improvements, redevelopment of city-owned brownfield sites, and construction of a new rail station are underway or nearing completion. A plan to develop 600 new rental-housing units and 60,000 sf of non-residential space downtown is also under way.

Updates on all of these downtown redevelopment projects will be regularly posted here online, so visit frequently to stay informed and watch us bring “Silver City” pride back to downtown Meriden!
